Virtual Network Activities
APRU's virtual network activities include the Distance Learning the Internet Conference, which involves distance and e-learning and the use of advanced technology in higher education, and more recently, the Chief Information Officers (CIO) Conference. The CIO Conference seeks to promote a network of IT leaders and professionals amongst APRU member universities engaged in strategic initiatives in technology and business processes. APRUNet aims to assist in the development of advanced Internet capabilities among APRU universities and Pacific Rim economies in collaboration with strategic and commercial partners. It seeks to develop teaching and research applications which utilize advanced Internet technologies.

Distance Learning and the Internet Conference
The Distance Learning and the Internet Conference (DLI) is a flagship activity of APRUNet, which explores global issues in distance learning and the utilization of current information technology in education amongst Pacific Rim universities. As an annual conference series, DLI's mission is to facilitate development of advanced Internet capabilities among APRU universities and Pacific Rim economies in collaboration with strategic and commercial partners.
DLI brings
together leading distance learning and ICT experts from academia,
business and government from around the world. A primary objective
is to foster new international distance learning and IT-enabled projects and
partnerships around the Pacific Rim.
