University of British Columbia will be hosting the 16th International Meeting of University Administrators (IMUA) in Vancouver from August 17-21, 2008. A joint venture between the Association of University Administrators (AUA) and the Association of Heads of University Administration (AHUA), the IMUA is a series of on-going meetings, which has been held in a variety of venues based at universities worldwide. The conference provides senior administrators and managers (Vice-Chancellors, Presidents, Registrars, Finance Directors, Planners and others) with an opportunity to discuss key issues of higher education in an international context.
The 2008 conference theme will focus on "Globalization", with four sub-themes:
- Evolution of Learning,
- Research Commercialization,
- Sustainability, and
- Leading and Organizing Academic Institutions of the Future.
Professor Bryan Gould, former Vice-Chancellor of University of Waikato, has been invited to be the keynote speaker at the conference. Participants can expect plenary and workshop sessions (including one Nobel Laureate), and an attractive program of social and cultural events in and around the city of Vancouver. Chinese Higher Education: 21st Century Opportunities

University of Southern California will be hosting a conference on higher education in China from October 20-21, 2008. The conference aims to provide participants with insights on the Chinese higher education landscape and future trends impacting the universities.
American and Chinese leaders from the higher education sector will exchange ideas on the current and future state of Chinese education, and opportunities for collaboration during this two-day conference. International Conference on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

The Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL), National University of Singapore will be hosting its upcoming International Conference on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (TLHE 2008) from December 3-5, 2008.
The theme for the conference is "Frontiers in Higher Education". At this conference, new developments and improvements in various key areas in higher education will be discussed.
