Questionnaire on Behavioural insights and perceived consequences of Coronavirus Disease 2019

COVID-19 has caused widespread economic losses and stretched healthcare systems to the brink. Disruptions to the healthcare system have been seen around the world, affecting the prevention and treatment of a range of health problems, including non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which are the primary contributors to the global burden of disease.

Insight into what drives behavior in the context of an epidemic is essential to understanding what steps governments can take to mitigate the effects of the pandemic. Understanding knowledge and attitudes about the pandemic, and how and where the public accesses information, can provide critical information to inform risk communication programs.

The APRU Global Health Program’s Working Group on NCDs, led by Dr Martin Wong from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, has formed a team made up of 21 researchers from 12 Pacific Rim economies (Canada, China, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States) to develop and implement a comprehensive online survey to collect this information.

In this survey, you will be asked questions about yourself, your knowledge of the coronavirus, the actions you have taken to protect yourself from the virus, your trust in various stakeholders, your opinions of COVID-19 policies in your countries and regions, and your own fears and worries relating to the coronavirus pandemic. You will not be asked to provide any personally identifiable information.

Please note:

  • Participation is open to people at the age of 18 or over, living in countries and regions of APRU.
  • Please ensure you have read and understood the information before filling in the survey.
  • The survey is entirely voluntary.
