Due to the uncertainties surrounding the global COVID-19 public health crisis and pandemic, APRU and the University of Malaya have made the difficult decision to cancel the APEC University Leaders’ Forum originally scheduled for 9 November 2020.
About the originally scheduled event:
The APEC University Leaders’ Forum, organized by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) and the University of Malaya, convenes presidents of the leading Asia-Pacific research universities together with leaders from major global corporations and government to share insights and discuss the critical issues of the region alongside the 2020 APEC CEO Summit in Malaysia.
The forum theme ‘Optimizing Human Potential Towards a Digital Future’ was drawn from the overarching theme for APEC Malaysia 2020. More specifically, the focus of the discussion was planned to include the role of technologies to shape the future of work and the predicted impact of technological developments on equality within the region.
