Introduction

APRU Global Health Program’s Working Group on Aging and the USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health invite you to join Aging on the Urban Margins, an interactive webinar exploring how urban design, public policy, and social space shape opportunities for healthy longevity among populations who are economically, legally, or socially marginalized. Building on the themes introduced during the APRU Global Health Program’s recent Mini Certificate in Global Aging, this conversation will examine the challenges and innovations emerging as cities adapt to populations living longer than ever before—often in environments originally designed for much shorter life expectancies.

Speakers

Bringing together perspectives from across disciplines and regions, the webinar will feature three speakers:

Mei Lan Fang, Simon Fraser University, whose work examines aging, migration, and inequality in urban communities;
Alex Li, National University of Singapore, who focuses on aging policy and age-inclusive urban innovation in rapidly aging Asian cities;
Alexis Coulourides Kogan, University of Southern California, whose research explores aging, homelessness, and social marginalization in urban America.

Moderators:

Mellissa Withers, University of Southern California
Jonathan Cohen, University of Southern California
