The 20th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2025

The 20th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2025 is hosted by the College of Architecture and College of Engineering at the University of Philippines Diliman, with the theme “Resilience Reviews and Projections: Multi-Hazard Entanglements of Society, Environment, and Technology in Space, Time and Place.

Awards for Papers & Posters

The Symposium invites paper and poster abstract submissions (see “Abstract Submission”). All accepted presentations will be eligible for the symposium’s prestigious awards:

  • Best Paper Award – USD 300, Best Paper Runner Up – USD 200;
  • Best Poster Award – USD 300, Best Poster Runner Up – USD 200;

Journal Submission Opportunity

Selected papers will be invited to submit to MUHON: A Journal of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and the Designed Environment, the official research journal of the UP Diliman’s College of Architecture. The Symposium Secretariat and Scientific Committee will identify and invite conference authors to submit full papers. All invited submissions must adhere to the MUHON journal format.

Complex Disasters

We invite you to submit a paper or a poster abstract:

  • Each Abstract must be text only and no longer than 250 words.
  • If accepted for a paper presentation, authors must submit an Extended Abstract of up to 750 words. Images and illustrations may be included. The Extended Abstract will be published in the Proceedings.
  • If accepted as a poster, a Poster Template will be provided. The poster title and author(s) will be listed in the Proceedings.

Financial Assistance

Partial financial support for deserving participants may be applied for on a first come, first served basis.

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Proof of enrollment at least in advanced level of undergraduate degree studies
  • Brief Curriculum Vitae (showing your research-related engagements)

 

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Must be currently enrolled at least in advance level of undergraduate degree studies
  • Must be engaged in or did research related to any of the APRU themes
  • Must be the lead/main author or presenter of the paper or poster

 

The approval of the partial financial support is contingent on the acceptance of the applicant’s paper or poster abstract and actual participation during the conference.
